In the heart of the Dolomiti Bellunesi, Al Capriolo restaurant and inn is a bastion of Italian excellence in the tourism and hospitality industries.
The 19th-century building in Vodo di Cadore (Belluno) was once a place for travellers and the first wave of tourists to discover the Dolomites to rest and eat a hearty meal. The history of the inn is the history of men and women who made their way to Italy from all over Europe to visit the stunning mountain chain that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Being inherently linked to the mountains, Al Capriolo organises different outings and experiences that are designed to thrill visitors as they discover the beauty of the Dolomites. Weekly activities include classics such as hiking and ‘via ferrata’ climbing routes, and even e-bike rides and rock-climbing lessons.
The shared connection to the mountains is what unites Garmont and Al Capriolo and what makes this partnership possible, with the aim of promoting outdoor activities while respecting the mountains and nature.
Al Capriolo also organises Un Passo dal Cielo (One step from heaven) picnics, an event held every Thursday in summer at the Malga Zarzenà mountain cottage. Celebrating local culinary traditions, these picnics are defined by delicious food and wine tastings, set in one of the filming locations of the Italian television series Un Passo dal Cielo.
You can book your spot at the picnic until 6 pm each Wednesday before the weekly event by calling +39 0435 489207. For more information, please visit the event webpage.
